Imagine this, it is Thanksgiving Eve 2008, raining and very cold and I get a call from my vets office {Doc Zabihi, D.V.M. at Duarte/Azusa Animal Hospital} Someone just came into the office and said 9 puppies were thrown into the San Gabriel River and the river was rising and they are going to drown.
One of the vet techs ran down the the river in the rain and saved all nine puppies. {Way to go Saul}
Well, we jumped right into action and called the television station {FOX 11} asking if anyone wanted to do a story on these angels and the wonderful Gigi Graciette from the station said she wanted to do the story and before aI knew it we were both on the road out to the hospital in the storm to do the story about the miracle puppies.
Well, after 2.5 hours in traffic we both arrived at the hospital and Gigi did the story. The link to the story can be seen at our website at www.rescuemeinc.org under the title THANKSGIVING MIRACLE PUPPIES.
The pups were all wet, cold, scared and all had terrible diarrhea.
We tested them for parvo and they are all negative. We tested them for Giardia and they tested positive thus they are all being treated for that now as well. {Treatable disease due to an intestinal parasite}
Currently we are raising funds to cover their medical care. As you can imagine the medical care for nine puppies is costly.
They are all on antibiotics now and have been dewormed, given the first vaccinations and have all been groomed. {They were all filthy}
If you would like to donate to the THANKSGIVNG MIRACLE PUPPY fund, please send your tax deductible donations too the following address:

Okay, now herein lies our biggest challenge as yet. We need to raise the funds IMMEDIATELY!!!
Let me tell you all a little about this amazing place we hope to call our new “miracle “ home…It is located in the beautiful mountains of Ventura County California. It is 12 acres of beautiful trees and sunshine with a beautiful breeze all year long. The property is safely gated behind an electric security gate and includes a main house and guest quarters for a fulltime caretaker, outdoor facilities perfect for entertainment and fundraising events, 5000 square foot kennel facility, grooming area, and vast play areas for the animals to run and play while awaiting their forever home.
There are numerous doggy parks on the property for the animals to run in a safe and contained escape proof environment.

Mission Statement
To empower and educate our community, to end the cycle of violence in the lives of our k-9 companions. We also serve the community by rescue, rehabilitation and re-homing the animals in our care. We are the rescues rescue. We focus a great deal of our attention on assisting other rescue organizations, as well as the general public. Our hope is that no rescue organization will ever be forced to turn down an animal in need due to a health problem, or high medical bills. We at Rescue Me, Incorporated believe that the high cost of a medical procedure should not determine if an animal should live or die. We are also involved heavily in animal rescue, rehabilitation and placement. We are very careful in the placement of our animals. It is our job and responsibility to see that our animals go to the perfect life-long, loving home. We have a very extensive and careful screening process to insure that our animals find the perfect forever home. One of our goals is to help cut the euthanasia rate by educating the public on the importance of animal rescue and spay/neuter programs.
Together, Forever and Always for the Animals.
Adopting a Friend
Before Adopting, Please Consider the Following:
Is your home and backyard pet safe?
If you don’t own your home, is it ok with the landlord to have pets. {We will check before the pet goes home with you}
Make sure your lifestyle can handle a pet. Do you have the time needed to spend with an animal? They require a lot of attention daily, grooming, play time, training, feeding, walking etc.
Can you afford to bring a new pet in to your home? Have you considered the cost of things such as; food, medical care, toys, grooming, animal licensing fees and the little emergencies you never expect to have?
Have you considered who would be responsible for the pet? Please remember a child is not a responsible pet guardian. The big responsibility is going to be on mom and dad.
Think how you will discipline the pet when he/she does something wrong. {And they will}
A great deal of patience is required when adopting a new family member. Are you up for that?
Get ready… puppies chew, kittens scratch and shred things. Are you ready for that?
Is anyone allergic to animals? Most animals shed. There are a few breeds that shed less then others. We can help you find the right breed for you and your family.
Please remember the importance of a yearly physical exam and update of vaccinations and licensing. Senior pets should be seen every four to six months by their vet.
Be a responsible pet parent. Always have your pet spayed or neutered. It saves lives!
Our Policies are Simple:
1. Fall in love.
2. Fill out the adoption application and contract.
3. Have the interview with an adoption counselor/volunteer.
4. Await the home inspection.
5. If all works out and the home is safe for the new pet, then you are the proud new pet parent of a great new best friend.
6. Oh yeah, don't forget the tax~deductible donation of $250.00~$500.00 {for purebreds}. If the pet has not as yet been neutered/spayed, {due to age} then we ask for an additional $100.00 which is refundable at the time you provide us with the proof that the pet has been altered. This is a good faith deposit to insure there will be no more unwanted, abandoned animals that find their way into our shelter systems.
7. We do not adopt puppies to families that have children under ten years of age. This is for the protection of the puppies.
8. We ONLY at this time do local adoptions. NO out of state adoptions.
Come Visit Us!
Please check out our website for locations of special events and adoptions we are having. At this time we do only spoecial events and private adoptions.
