ABOUT ANIMAL OUTREACH
There is never a shortage of cats or kittens for adoption. Almost every
color, shape, size and age are available. All have been altered,
wormed, given distemper and rabies shots, and tested for FELV and FIV,
and most are now micro-chipped for identification.
In April of 2010,
we celebrated our 17th anniversary of service to the animal community.
Since we opened in April 1992, Animal Outreach has altered almost
60,000 cats and kittens for El Dorado County, Sacramento County and the
surrounding counties.
We have placed
over 13,000 companion cats and kittens, dogs and puppies into loving
homes. During the past 19 years, we have provided the abandoned cats,
kittens, dogs and puppies of El Dorado County and Sacramento County
with care, including food, water, litter, medication, altering,
vaccinations, and love while finding them new homes. We provided low
cost spay/neuter procedures to over 9,000 cats and kittens in 2010
alone.
Over 100 dedicated
volunteers of Animal Outreach have put in more than 25,000 volunteer
hours. Without the support from these volunteers, we would be unable to
provide our cat shelter operations or spay/neuter/vaccination services
to the public. Please contact us if you are interested in volunteering
or fostering cats or kittens.
COMPANION FELINES
Companion
Felines program helps both seniors and AIDS patients with medical needs
for their pets, or they may adopt one of our special Companion Felines
(many have been declawed by previous owners) to comfort them through
the tough times.
FRIENDLY TRAPPING
Animal Outreach
will help in El Dorado and surrounding counties to
trap/alter/re-release cats to cared-for feral cat colonies. Fees and
special arrangements will be considered. Contact us for details.
