We have taken in many rabbits from the shelters this year and can use help with spay and neutering and medical bills. If you can help with a donation or you work for a vet that is willing to help with low cost spay/neuters please contact us. We also need help with feed, and timothy hay, paper towels, towels, toys, newspapers, soft fleece blankets. for rabbits. 100% of all donations go to the care of the rabbits, and are tax deductable. We are all volunteers and take no salaries. Please call us if you can help. 562 807 0071 Presently all of our foster homes are full and we cannot accept any rabbits. We are in critical need for additional foster homes. Please call us if you can help by fostering a rabbit (or two?). With more foster homes we can help save more rabbits. We need a building where we can have all the rabbits in one place and have people come by to see them. We have seen information on the internet telling you it is ok for you to use pine shavings as bedding or litter. It is NOT ok. Pine shavings can cause upper respirtory problems do to the oil in the shavings, Cedar shavings are also dangerous, as they can cause liver damage. Please use a recycled paper product like Carefresh or Aspen Shavings.
We are happy to answer your rabbit questions, but we have been receiving many calls asking for medical advice on rabbits. We cannot and will not give out medical advice. If you rabbit is sick it needs to be taken to a veterinarian that is qualified to treat rabbits.Second Chance For Rabbits is a non-profit all volunteer group that rescues and places abandoned rabbits into loving and qualified homes. We also offer education advice on neutering and spaying and care of rabbits. Please feel free to contact us with any questions you may have.
