FOSTER HOMES NEEDED IN SOUTHBAY - LONG BEACH AREA OF LOS ANGELES COUNTY.
PLEASE DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR OURS IF:
• You cannot commit to the years of care, physically, mentally, financially.
• You're looking for perfection; Corgis can be willful and are not for everyone. They are heavy duty shedders, are verbal dogs, not good with newborns through toddler stage, have a strong herding instinct and no Corgi will ever be 100% perfect at any time of its life.
• You're expecting your children, regardless of age, to care for the Corgi. It's not going to happen!
• You don't want an indoor dog.
• You have a yard that is not secure, not solid; if you have adults or children coming in and out of your yard during the day when you're not home, your family and friends cannot be trusted to keep gates and door closed.
• Your lifestyle includes activities where it would be inconvenient to keep the Corgi on a leash at all times, such as camping, hiking, 10.32.030 Dogs--Running at large permitted on private property-- Running At Large: No person who owns or has charge of a dog may allow the animal to run at large. Dogs must be kept on a leash at all times when out of their yards. Violation may result in a citation, court appearance and a fine of up to $250. (County Code Title 10, Sec. 10.32.010)
• You and your family lack the time to train the Corgi, i.e., take him to classes, have a trainer come in, and follow up, or if you want an easily trained dog who will always do what you ask or have had a dog like that in the past.
• Our minimum adopter age is 25 years old.
• You don't have a sense of humor!
