The El Dorado Humane Society is an all-volunteer, nonprofit animal rescue organization. Our mission is to save stray and abandoned animals in our county by finding them permanent loving homes, to educate the public on the humane treatment of animals, and to decrease the population of unwanted animals through aggressive spay/neuter campaigns.
Shelter
Our facility has an on-site cat adoption facility. Please call and leave a message and we can arrange to meet you at the shelter to see the cats.
Adopting a friend
We have on site cat and kitten adoptions and a "match" list for dogs. We also provide assistance for County residents who need to find new homes for their pets. Contact our facility at 530-642-APET (642-2738) for information on adoption hours.
