Lathrop Animal Services is a Division of the Neighborhood & Community Services Department and employs 2 full time Animal Services Officers and one full time Animal Services Assistant. Our office is located in Lathrop City Hall. Licenses and any questions or concerns relating to animal care and control are handled at this office. The City of Lathrop does not have it's own shelter so we contract with the City of Manteca for shelter services. The shelter is located at 208 E. Wetmore Ave. in Manteca; phone: (209)456-8270.
Adopting a friend
To adopt an animal, you will need to go to the Manteca shelter to fill out the required documentation. The adoption fee for dogs and cats is $20.00; small animal adoption fee is $10. Spaying/neutering is required prior to any animal leaving the shelter and additional fees will be charged based upon the type of animal and its weight. Microchipping is also available. If you are a local resident, a license fee is also required. Please contact our office to inquire about a particular animal's adoption costs. We also participate in weekend adoption events at off-site locations. Please call us for more information!
