Hi, my name is Dixie. I am a 19 yr old, 15.1 hand, Paint mare. I am a retired barrel racer and I still love to go. I am quite sound, healthy and very trail experienced.
I am good with just about any level of rider. Some experience is needed as I do love to run. I am not spooky, do not buck or rear, and but I do dance and prance until I get out and going for awhile.
I think that I am terrific horse and will make someone a perfect trail partner.

Here is another EASY way to help the rescue. Do you shop at Vons?? If so, you can sign up through the rescue to be a part of e-scrip. After you sign up - every time you shop at Vons and swipe your Vons card, Vons will donate 1% to 2% of your purchases each month. It cost you nothing but time to sign up. The rescue uses the e-scrip donations to buy hay for the horses. Give us a call (805)649-1090, if you would like to sign up.
Who We Are
(Our mission is to rescue abandoned, abused, neglected, and/slaughter bound horses, and to provide them shelter, proper nutrition, medical attention and rehabilitation.
These horses are given a second chance for a healthy, productive life, and once rehabilitated, caring homes are found for each one.)
Adopting a Friend
(We screen potional caregivers and make every effort to match a horse with a compatible new person. We remain the legal owner of the horse and the caregiver is the legal custodian of the horse. This means that an Rescue horse can never be sold, given away, or disposed of in any manner. The horse is always returned to California Coastal Horse Rescue if the caregiver can no longer care for the horse. This ensures that these horses do not end up needing to rescued again.)

(We need volunteers to help us care for the rescued horses at our facility in Oakview. We are also in need of a foster homes for the horses waiting to come into the shelter. Please call for an appointment if interested.
