11 years old. Chihuahua/Terrier mix. Found wandering the streets, this spunky little girl survived it all. She is very loyal and loving. But! She wants all the attention and needs to be the only dog because, after all, she IS a princess! A quiet loving retirement home would be perfect.

CHIHUAHUAS RESCUED! The news has had many stories on the Baldwin Park Chihuahuas. Chihuahua Rescue & Warren Eckstein (noted animal behaviorist) fought hard to get them released from this shelter in order to rehabilitate & adopt them into new loving homes. Brittany Foundation offered to help with rehabilitation and adoptions. Please visit our
CHIHUAHUA PAGE to see the beautiful girls and boys we have. Imagine our joy and delight when Warren adopted a beautiful little boy, Handley. Go to www.thepetshow.com for more about this heartwarming story. Handley has since been renamed Cisco and you can hear about him on The Pet Show at KRLA 870 am on Saturdays from 11 to 1.
APPLICATIONS ONLINE! Our adoption application is now online! Just go to the "Adopting a Friend" section on this page and click on the link. You can download the PDF form, then print out a copy to mail or fax.
The Brittany Foundation is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) charity dedicated to the rescue, care and placement of homeless dogs in the Southern California area only.
We rescue all dogs, regardless of breed, and we often focus our efforts on the harder-to-place dogs such as seniors, disabled or abused dogs, and "media condemned" breeds such as Pit Bulls. It's relatively easy to find a home for a cute little Chihuahua, but the gratification for us comes from placing the 6-year-old Pit Bull with one eye, the stray mutt who has never had a home before, or the 12-year-old Doberman with severe separation anxiety (who is now living in a wonderful home of his own). Of course, we also have a lot of adorable, easy, well-behaved angels who are still searching for their forever-homes too.
Most of our dogs reside at our sanctuary in Agua Dulce. While in our care, they are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and given a thorough check-up along with any necessary medical attention. They are available to visit at our weekly adoption program (see below).

Our sanctuary in Agua Dulce holds an adoption program every Sunday. We are also open by appointment all other days of the week for adoptions as an added convenience. If you are interested in visiting, please e-mail us for directions.

Please stop by and meet some of the wonderful dogs we have available for adoption!
If you are interested in adopting a dog from us, we will ask you to fill out an adoption application. This gives us a chance to find out a little bit about you and to make sure the dog you are interested in will be a good match for your family and your lifestyle. If it looks like a good match, we will set up a time to come to your house for a home inspection. This allows us to make sure your home will be a safe, secure place for the dog and it gives you a chance to see how the dog will interact with other pets and members of your family.
We ask a $150 adoption fee for most of our dogs. This is a tax-deductible donation to our organization, and it goes towards the rescue and care of other dogs in the program. All of the dogs are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and given a thorough check-up before they are placed in new homes.
If you would like an adoption application, please click on the following link to download and print out a PDF form Online Adoption Application or you can give us a call at (661) 713-5240 and we will e-mail or mail one to you.

FOSTER HOMES - While most of our dogs live at the sanctuary, we greatly value our foster homes which help us with training & getting a dog used to a home environment. Volunteering as a foster home is one of the best ways to help the dogs and our organization. Please contact us if you would like to provide a temporary foster home for one of our wonderful dogs.
SPONSOR A DOG - The Brittany Foundation cares for many dogs with special needs who either cannot be placed in new homes because of behavioral or medical conditions, or who are not likely to find new homes because of breed, age, or special considerations. We believe these dogs can still lead happy, meaningful lives here at our sanctuary, and we are committed to their care for the rest of their lives. If you would like to sponsor one of our Special Needs dogs click on the following link. Special Needs Dogs Then contact us at (661) 713-5240 or e-mail us and let us know which dog you'd like to sponsor. Any help you can give will be greatly appreciated!
DONATIONS - As a nonprofit, all-volunteer organization, we rely strictly on donations to raise the money it takes to rescue, rehabilitate and care for the dogs in our program. Our largest expense is medical care. Every penny you give goes directly to the dogs. We are grateful for any donation you can give -- every little bit helps! As an added convenience, we have a PayPal account which you can access on our website. Click on this link DONATE HERE to go to our donations page. Remember, all donations are fully tax-deductible!
