BONES Pet Rescue (Better Options for NEglected Strays) was started to serve animals in need of care. Because we live in a very rural area, with no animal services for well over an hour drive, we formed our group to help the animals in our economically depressed community. We are very proactive with spay / neuter programs. We have been pretty successful and were able to start rescuing pets from other areas. We rescue pets, as well as farm animals, many times from shelters where their time is up and they are scheduled for euthanasia. Most rescues groups and shelters only accept animals that are adoptable. Many of our pets are adoptable, but we also care for many that are elderly or may have special needs. We make a pledge to the animals in our care, whether they have been adopted, or remain in our sanctuary, that no matter what the circumstances they are always welcome here.
We are a small group of dedicated volunteers that care for the animals in our homes as well as at the sanctuary. We have no paid staff. Every dollar we receive in donations is used directly for the care of our rescued pets.
Potential adopters will be asked to fill out an adoption application and an adoption fee applies.
