Iris was horribly neglected, left in a home to starve to death and was found on the edge of death. Se is now a very healthy, very playful, and very social girl who oves all people and loves car rides. She is about 40lbs. A long way from the 18 lbs when she was found. Please consider providing her a forever home

WHO WE ARE: This is a small rescue dedicated to finding loving homes for abused, neglected, and abandoned animals from high kill shelters and the surrounding areas in the Antelope Valley. We also assist in networking dogs that people are unable to keep. We do our best to match each dog with its forever home taking into consideration any special needs, behavior, energy levels, and best fit. We require an application, home check, contract, and adoption fee. We also require adopted animals to be spayed/neutered, have initial shots, and be medically cleared before going to their new home. The expectation is that your new pet will be part of your family, sleep indoors, and receive the love, care and affection they deserve.

Adopting a new family member

Complete and application at our website http://handspawshearts.rescuegroups.org or request an application by email at calibear2010@hotmail.com. You will receive a return call or email once your application is reviewed, usually within 48 hours. Please do not call until you have submitted your application. If your application is approved, a home check will be scheduled. If your home is approved you will be requested to pay an adoption fee. Additionally we require all animals to be spayed/neutered.

Why do we rescue out of shelter locations!

You may think that animals are always adopted, but the fact is that many animals die in shelters every day. A shelter only keeps animals for about 5-7 days before they euthanize them. Our rescue focuses on all breeds, we also have a special interest in special needs animals, pregnant dogs, nursing mothers and their young. Our adoption fee covers care for the animals, food, medical treatment, and assists us in helping our community with spay/neuter projects.
