We are one of the largest animal shelters in Alameda County. Thousands of beautiful, loving, and heartwarming animals come though our doors every year. We accept and adopt out a wide variety of animals in need of loving homes and we never turn away any homeless dog or cat.
We help every animal in our shelter to the fullest extent. If we cannot give an animal everything it possibly needs, we will work with other rescue organizations to make sure we can give 100% effort into making our animals happy and adopted. Upon adoption all of our animals are spayed/neutered, dogs get DA2PP and Bordetella vaccines and cats get FVRCP. Soon we will be offering microchip services.
As a shelter we have a stable, full-time staff, all dedicated to animals and able to offer consistency and stability to our four-legged guests. We have extensive training with animals and pride ourselves on having many solid, friendly relationships with various non-profit rescue groups throughout the Bay Area.
We have the highest success rate of adoption and our animals move quickly. So come visit us and catch one of our wonderful pets before someone else gets them!
Adopting a friend
Stray animals not claimed within six days are available for adoption. The adoption fee is $25 for any animal available in the shelter. All animals over the age of eight weeks must be spayed/neutered before going to their new home. A list of current fees is available at the front counter of the shelter. If more than one person is interested in the same animal the following procedure is followed: 1. All interested parties must check in with the shelter staff by 11:35 am of the first day the animal is available for adoption. 2. A drawing will be held to determine who gets the animal. If you are interested in adopting a particular animal, please call between 4:30pm and 5:30pm the day before the animal is available for adoption to see if the animal is still in the shelter.
