Black "Stallion" mascot, Osiris, the Arabian gelding, can be found wandering around the ranch munching all sorts of greens, including flowers. Osi will spend his remaining days here with a few of the other "oldsters", showing off to visitors and gently taking offered treats. Our equine herd is growing in this time of economic uncertainty.
This is good news for those of you looking for the right horse or those seeking to volunteer with horses.
Hoofs and Woofs Animal Rescue is a not for profit public benefit corporation who rescues serviceable horses, livestock and others. Our goals are to give volunteers the opportunity to interact with the animals, help with their care and placement and support our efforts with fundraising. A fun educational experience that should enrich your life and allow dreams to be fulfilled.
Who We Are
A lifetime of saving all kinds of critters, including horses, livestock and small animals gave us the background to help more animals in need. Children, seniors and everyone in between benefit from the interaction with animals. The physical aspect of the work involved, the mental focus of the task at hand, The sense of accomplishment, pride in overcoming apprehension of very large creatures, learning, sharing the joy, all are a part of volunteering and visiting with the animals. We all grow from the experience.
Adopting a friend
It takes several visits to assure you and the large animal companion are a good match. All animals require an adoption contract and a home inspection to assure their continued safety. Your first step is to contact us so we can get the pre-adoption questions taken care of and make sure you and your new companion animal will have many happy years together. We offer, dogs, cats, kittens, horses, ponies and livestock.

With such a diverse group of animals we are always glad to have volunteers come and help out with the chores and TLC for our companions. Appointments are required. Group visits can also be scheduled. Eagle scout projects make our dreams come true. If you are a good rider and would like to work on a project horse, we have some nice prospects.
The timid riders are paired with older seasoned mounts. This is a great way to fall in love with a horse before you own it. Construction help is welcome
