We are an Independent 501c3 non profit organization, run solely by volunteers. We are not affiliated with, or receive funding from any Government agency or National Organization.
The Humane Society of Stanislaus County does not currently have a facility to house animals, and all our adoptable pets are kept in foster homes. By fostering animals it allows them to live in a home like environment without cages, and provides them with the social skills and training needed to adapt to a owner/family environment. Our pets come from many sources: homeless pets, owner surrendered, and pets saved from euthanasia at the shelter.
We also provide support for our pets in Stanislaus County by offering low cost spay and neuter clinics, running a pet food pantry, and providing pet owners with knowledge and support. We are funded solely by donations and fundraising. We do not have any paid staff, and our volunteers are dedicated to helping abandoned, neglected and abused animals helping them find safe forever homes with a loving environment.
