Diana’s Dog World is a small rescue working out of a private home. My goal is to save one dog at a time. Sometimes it seems like an overwhelming feat as there are so many and they can’t all be saved. I am always looking for foster homes while dogs await adoption.
Adopting a friend
Remember a dog can live many years. This is a commitment for the lifetime of the dog.
When thinking of adopting a new pet, please consider these questions:
Do I want a pup or a grown dog? A grown dog might be a better choice.
What kind of dog will fit in with my family and lifestyle?
Can I afford a new dog? Remember you never know when an unexpected expense can arise. Dogs require yearly vaccines, de-flea products, bathing, food, bedding, and even teeth brushing for small dogs especially! Dogs can get sick or injured and vet bills are not cheap!
Do I have time for a dog? When I get home from work, will I walk the dog, play with the dog?
Do I have the patience for a pup? House training, cleaning up messes, damage the pup or dog might do.
Do I plan on moving anytime in the near future?
Do I have a place for the dog inside and outside? Is the area outside a secure area?
Who will I have care for the dog when I am out of town?
Lots of things to consider and more!!
