Our Featured Pet...

Our Featured Pet is Jade. Jade is a unique little 9-month-old pure-bred Chihuahua (rescued from the Devore Shelter) who is a total sweetheart and a fantastic little dog. Weighing six and a half pounds, Jade is a must meet; she is not your typical barky or shaky Chi. Yes, she barks like any dog does but in comparison to other dogs, she’s quiet! Jade loves to play with other dogs (see video!) and is a submissive sweetheart, not a bossy dog. She also loves toys, and to chew on rawhides. She loves to play in the yard or snuggle up to you, or on the couch. Jade burrows under the blankets like a typical Chi. She has already learned to use the doggie door and has not had any potty accidents in the house yet. Jade has no problem going to bed in the crate at night and does not make a fuss if she needs to be crated. Other than when she is playing with the other dogs, Jade does NOT appear to be a barker. She is not a nipper either. Please also consider donating to the dogs of the Angel's Heart Dog Rescue. You can go to our personal web pages at: http://www.angelsheartdogrescue.com. Who We Are

Angel's Heart Dog Rescue is a small new rescue located near the Orange County/Riverside County border. We are a non-profit rescue (501 c 3 organization) and donations are tax deductible. The primary focus is to rescue a few dogs from animal shelters who are red-listed for no other reason than there are too many dogs in an overpopulated state shelter system, and they simply need more time for someone to notice them. The intent is to locate friendly animals who could otherwise be great family pets if not for the misfortune of being homeless. Angel's Heart also takes in occasional strays but not owner surrenders. We can help by offering suggestions and tips for owners needing to rehome their pet. Note: We do not have a public shelter, but rather, the rescued dogs live in the homes of rescuers and fosters.

Adopting a friend

There is an application, (not on the website - must be e-mailed to you), a meet and greet where the dog is being fostered, the dog delivery and the home check (the dog delivery and the home check are done in one visit - home checks are simply to check the fencing) and an adoption fee/adoption contract. Adoption fees are as follows: For dogs age one year or older- $200.00, for dogs 6 months to 11 months - $225.00, for puppies under the age of 6 months - $250.00 and for certain pure-bred dogs - $300.00-$350.00. If you are unclear as to the adoption fee of any particular dog, please do not hesitate to ask. All of the rescued dogs are spayed/neutered, micro-chipped, and fully vaccinated including rabies. Since most of the dogs come from city and county shelters, vet checks, medications, fecal tests, dewormers, Frontline, and other services are also provided as needed. The adoption fee is considered a donation to the rescued animals within the adoption program of Angel's Heart Dog Rescue. Varying fees provide additional financial support for particular dogs who are harder-to-adopt cases. We strive to give you as much information as we can about the animal you wish to adopt by observing his or her behavior in a variety of settings and social situations. We understand that everyone has an idea of exactly what they want or like in a pet. While we acknowledge that everyone should have exactly what they want, we hope to encourage thinking outside of that box too. Consider that the perfect match for you may be a breed you never thought you'd want or love! Or a senior dog, or not a puppy! Please listen to all the wonderful volunteers and people in rescue as they are very experienced in helping you to find the perfect dog fit for you or your family. Lastly, no dog is perfect. Any rescued dog, or any dog for that matter, will have his or her own set of issues. There is no such thing as a dog that has enough energy to run along side you on a bicycle, but totally chills out in the house without ever chewing or destroying anything along the way, that never barks, loves all people and all dogs, cats, bunny rabbits and the like, a dog that is perfectly house-trained, never has an accident, oh, and did I forget to mention, is already wonderfully trained! Yes, you will have to do some work! The main thing to consider is that the adopted dog is a good fit for you, and visa versa. The dog will come with some issues, but hopefully, they will be issues that are manageable to you, and oh what joys a doggie companion will bring!
