About Us

Adopting A Friend

To meet any of our Pomeranians, the first step is to complete the attached application.  Once we receive your application we can set  an appointment for you to meet the dog you are interested in.  If all goes well at that meeting you can take the pet home for up to 1 week on a trial run.  Adoption donations can vary anywhere from $100-500 depending on the dog's health, age, and temperament.  Donations can be paid by cash, check, credit card, or in advance by Paypal.  During this period your money is still fully refundable.  During that time if you have training issues, medical problems, etc please feel free to contact the rescue and we will do what we can to remedy the problem.  Our goal is to help these pups re-adjust and acclimate to their new homes with as little difficulty as possible.  If things just don't work out for the entire week you can return the pup or a full refund or exchange them for a better suited match.  If things do work out we finalize adoptions after the full trial is complete.  At that time you receive medical records, microchip information, rabies/microchip/sterility certificates, a copy of the adoption contract, and any personal belongings assigned to the pet at intake.  Once the adoption in final you can write the adoption donation off as it is 100% tax deductible (We are a non-profit rescue group).  Lastly should you ever be unable to provide adequate care for the pet we will always take them back, no matter the reasons. Thank you for choosing to adopt!                                            www.southerncaliforniapomeranianrescue.org

Who We Are

Every day there are thousands of dogs put to sleep in local shelters and abandoned on the streets. Our mission is to help as many of them as we can. Working with the City of Angels Pomeranian Club, we are hoping to save as many Pomeranian's from euthanasia and abandonment as we can. These dogs are such sweet creatures and so dependent on people that left to their own they could starve and die.

The adoption donation is used to partially recover the costs involved in rescuing.  These costs include but are not limited to: Shelter fees, spay/neuter, food, housing, vaccinations, de-worming, micro chip, and any vet exams or medical care that the dog may have required. We would not have been able to save the life of the dog you are interested in without the adoption donation from another that came before him/her.

All of the Pomeranian's that we take in are screened for behavioral issues and health problems prior to permanent placement with their new mommies and daddies.

Behavioral screening means that we check to see if they get along with kids, the elderly, cats, dogs, and other animals. It also entails checking to see if they nip, are scared of fast movement, are jumpy, don't like to be touched in certain ways, chew excessively, etc.

Medical screening means that we have them de-wormed, current on vaccines, free of parasites and communicable disease, are treated for pre-existing conditions, and declared healthy within manageable limits.
