There are many dogs and cats eagerly awaiting adoption at the Santa Barbara Humane Society. We have purebreds, mixed breeds, young, old, big, small, and everything in between. At the Santa Barbara Humane Society, we maintain detailed health and temperament profiles on each adoption animal, and will help prospective families make a good match when choosing their new furry companion. Our adoption fees include an initial health examination, vaccines, spay/neuter surgery, temperament evaluation, microchip with registration, and a starter pack of food. For more information, visit us at 5399 Overpass Road, or call 964-4777. Shelter hours are Mon.-Sat., 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. You can also visit www.sbhumanesociety.org for more information.
Who We Are
The Santa Barbara Humane Society is a private, non-profit animal welfare organization serving Santa Barbara County since 1887. At our facility, located at 5399 Overpass Road, we have adoption animals that have been relinquished by their owners looking for new homes. The types of animals we house include cats and dogs, as well as small animals such as hamsters, domesticated rats and mice, and guinea pigs. Stop by and take a tour of our shelter!
Adopting a friend
The hours for visitation of our adoption animals is between 10:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Saturday, excluding holidays. Take a tour of our shelter and you may find that special somebody, waiting to be your new best friend for life. We just ask that you fill out a visitation application form to see if that furry companion is the right one for you! You can also fill out our "I want" form in our Shelter Office for a pet that meets your lifestyle and home environment. If an animal that matches that description is brought in for adoption, we will contact you.
