To rescue a Yorkie, a minimum donation to Yorkshire Terrier National Rescue is required based upon on the age and condition of the dog and medical expenses incurred (beginning at $150) plus a $25 fee for Microchipping. Each dog is Microchipped before going to it's new home. Read about our Microchip Policy here.
Most Yorkies are adopted within their home states. If you are interested in a Yorkie that is not in your home state, you may still send an inquiry, however, every effort is first made to place the dogs locally, however in some circumstances we do allow the adopted families to come pick the dogs from their foster home.
We tend to have more people willing to rescue our Yorkies than we have dogs available. While this may mean that you may have to wait a considerable amount of time before a rescue becomes available, it is the best possible situation for our Yorkies needing new "forever" homes.
Not all dogs get a chance to get their photo on the web page. So just because you don't see your state on the page, does not mean there isn't a dog for you. You must fill out the form to be put on the waiting list, and someone in your area will contact you......

Who We Are
The Yorkshire Terrier National Rescue Inc. was founded in 1997.
We are dedicated to finding the best possible homes for Yorkshire Terriers in our care, regardless of age, sight, hearing or other handicaps. Everyday we help local pounds and other types of shelters find Yorkies in need of our help in relocating homeless and abandoned pets.
We screen and visit every home with a pre adoptive interview, personal reference checks and in home follow up visits whenever possible after the adoption.
We spay and neuter prior to placing the animal in its new home. Our dogs are Heartwormed checked and current on all vaccines. We also microchip them to their new owners with a reference back to our Yorkshire Terrier National Rescue Inc. Read about our Microchip Policy here.
We make every effort to ensure that our little dogs live in the loving environments that they so well deserve to their very last day on this earth. We are a non profit 501 c (3) charitable organization.
YTNR NEVER places any yorkie through any private person. All rescues we adopt out are done solely through our rescue group. To verify you are working with a legitimate member of YTNR, use this page to contact us or fill out our application to be sure that only a member of YTNR is in contact with you. Finally, please note that donations on our placement dogs depend on the dogs age, health, and the value of medical costs put into the dog.
