Give An Adult Cat a Second Chance for Love: We have several adult cats, ages 1-6 years, that are all looking for their second chance at love. Many were moms from this year and last year, others were owner surrender and most just discarded for one reason or another. Because we have so many adults and kitten season is in full swing, all adults will be available for a special adoption fee. So, please browse our available cats and see if one of them is the perfect pet you've been looking for.

News

THANKS TO THE generosity of some local residents who gave their time, talent and compassion, Jinx, a 2-year-old siamese cat, is recuperating and recovering nicely from massive life-threatening injuries he sustained a few weeks ago. Jinx was found on the side of Isabel Avenue in Livermore. He was alive but in a lot of pain, with two broken legs and other severe injuries. The cat had no identification on it, but volunteers from the Safe Cat Foundation in San Ramon rescued him from being euthanized and took Jinx to the Bishop Ranch Veterinary Center in San Ramon. Doctors Leanne Taylor and Frank Utchen and other staff members volunteered their services and performed seven hours of surgery to save Jinx's life. Jinx not only survived, but both his legs were saved with the use of rods, plates, wires and hardware in his bones. Jinx is now in foster care and recovering nicely. He is standing and walking very carefully but will still require three more months of rehabilitation. Amazingly Jinx is expected to make a full recovery. According to Tracey Quartaroli, Jinx's medical bills including costs for hospitalization, materials, and medications have stacked up and donations are very welcomed to help with these and the continued cost of Jinx's care. You can make donations at Bishop Ranch Veterinary Center, 2000 Bishop Dr. in San Ramon, 925-866-8387 and ask that your donation be applied to Jinx's care c/o Safe Cat Foundation. You can also make a donation online directly to Safe Cat Foundation at www.safecatfoundation.org.
