Or click the button below to make a tax-deductible donation and sponsor a rescued animal! In many cases the cost for even basic veterinary care such as neuter surgery, vaccinations, flea meds & dewormers exceed the amount we ask as an adoption fee. Donations help us cover extra medical costs.

We need volunteers!:

Craigslist Posts: The posts are already written, all you have to do is post to CL. We are looking for a couple volunteers to help with this task as it can be time consuming

Website Designer: Help us get a basic website up and running.

Website Changes: Help with small changes needed on our website as animals are adopted and as new animals are rescued.

Bio Writers: Every animal on our website needs a bio written, our foster homes will give you notes about their personalities and you write up a bio!

Transport Volunteers: Help drive animals from shelters to foster homes, or transport animals from foster homes to spay / neuter appointments

Foster Homes: We can only rescue as many animals as we can find foster homes for. Please save a life and volunteer to foster at least one cat or dog from a high-kill shelter this year

Backup Foster Homes: Can't commit? Volunteer to be short-term backup foster care and fill in for foster homes when they need to travel

Who We Are

Founded in July 2008, Tailchaser Rescue is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization devoted to rescuing cats and dogs (and more!) from high-kill shelters. We are an all-volunteer organization. Our group is 100% foster home based. We do not have a shelter, all of our animals are cared for by devoted volunteers in their homes. This is great for our rescued animals, they get to live in a home environment instead of waiting in a cage at the shelter until they are adopted, which allows us to get to know them better. Our rescue animals receive all necessary medical attention until permanent homes are found.

Adopt a Friend

Our animals are all cared for in private foster homes, and are available for meetings after you've submitted an application, and by appointment only. By adopting a cat or dog from Tailchaser Rescue, you're making a commitment to provide love, care, and medical treatment for the life of the animal.
