Our Featured Pet - Stewie!

Stewie is a gorgeous little dog, and will make a loyal companion for some lucky person. With his long fur & short little legs, he looks like a Longhaired Dachshund mix to us. After we treated him for a UTI and it came back, we discovered that he had a bladder stone the size of a walnut! He's now had the bladder stone removed, has recovered from surgery, and is ready for his forever home. Stewie is friendly, loves to play, and loves to cuddle. He likes to chew on stuffed toys and likes going for walks. He is comfortable being picked up, held, and carried, and he will climb right up on your lap if you sit down low, or on the floor, so he can reach you. He is housetrained and crate-trained. Stewie really loves other dogs, big and small! And we definitely want him to go to a home where he'll have another dog to play with. He is also really good with cats! Stewie is about 1 year old and weighs 10 lbs.

Stewie is being fostered in Sunnyvale. If you're interested in meeting him, please download our adoption application below and email it to TCRescue@hotmail.com once you've completed it.

Contact Us

The best way to get in touch with us is to email TCRescue@hotmail.com

Our group does not have a shelter, all of our foster animals are cared for in individual volunteer foster homes and are only available for meetings after you've submitted an application, and by appointment only. This is great for our rescued animals (they get to live in a normal home instead of waiting in a cage until they find a home) but it's good for our adopters as well. You'll get to see how they behave in a normal home environment.

Make A Donation

Many of the animals we rescue need medical care to get them in good health before we make them available for adoption. Your donations help make this possible.

If you want to make a tax-deductible donation to support the animals, checks can be made out to "Rescue Alliance" and mailed to

News

Want to volunteer? We are currently in need of more foster homes for kittens, cats, and dogs! If you are interested in volunteering as a foster home, please email TCRescue@hotmail.com!

Can't foster? We can use lots of other kinds of volunteers. If you are interested in transporting from the shelter, or to / from neuter appointments, or if you can cat-sit or dog-sit an animal for a few days if their regular foster home goes out of town, please contact us.

Who We Are

Tailchaser Rescue is a member of Rescue Alliance, a nationwide 501c3 non-profit organization. Tailchaser Rescue is devoted to rescuing cats and dogs (and more!) from overcrowded shelters where they are in danger of being euthanized. We are an all-volunteer organization, primarily made up of caring foster homes who provide safe and loving environments for their foster animals. Our rescue animals receive all necessary medical attention until permanent homes are found.

Adopting a friend

By adopting a cat or dog from Tailchaser Rescue, you're making a commitment to provide love, care, and medical treatment for the life of the animal. We make every effort to make the best possible match when placing our rescued animals with new families. Each adoptive home is screened carefully, and support is given throughout the adoption to make sure it is a success.

The required adoption donation for cats begins at $100, and dogs begin at $200. All animals are spayed and neutered prior to adoption.

If you are interested in adopting a cat or dog, please email TCRescue@hotmail.com for an application.

Volunteering

Please contact us if you would like information about volunteering! We especially have a need for foster homes but there are many other ways you can help as well.
