ABOUT US
Tazzy Animal Rescue Fund is a 501C3 Not for Profit California State
Charitable Organization. Our tax id number is 20-2394081. Tazzy Animal
Rescue Fund was founded in 2005 by Leilani and Rick Laca Tazzy's humans.
After Tazzy passed away from cancer in late 2004 they made a commitment
to help animals in need to honor and thank him for the love he brought
into their lives.
Since then many amazing people have joined the Board of Directors and
the mission of Tazzy Fund. Each of them bringing their passion and
memory of the canine and feline loved ones they have loved and lost to
old age and disease. We all work endlessly to help animals in need to
perpetuate their memory.
Mission
Tazzy Fund operates as a full functioning animal rescue, while focusing
on seniors and the medically challenged. Our goal is to offer these
loving seniors a grand retirement no matter how much time they have
left. A medically challenged rescued animal can count on top rated
medical care and a safe warm place with lots of love to rest until a
forever home is found.
Tazzy Fund also offers many community programs that assist pet owners.
Our goal is to offer services that will allow people to keep their pets
in the home rather then situations that would otherwise cause them to
relinquish their pets to an animal shelter. These assistance programs
include, medical care, pet food, medication, short term boarding,
nutrition counseling, spay and neuter programs and direction to
resources available that we may not provide. |

Thank you for your interest in a rescue dog or cat. Now that you have
made the decision and commitment to add a dog or cat to your family let
us help you find the perfect pet for your household and lifestyle.
Our Adoption Fees are as follows:
Adoption Fees for Dogs and Puppies range between $95 -$400 and are based upon breed (pure or
mixed), age, health, socialization (i.e. good with dogs, cats and kids)
Adoption Fees for Cats and Kittens range between $65 - $125 and are
based upon breed (pure or mixed), age, health, etc.
Your donation is a tax deductible expense and it goes toward funding our
rescue efforts.
Our Rescue Retirement Program is designed to place our older dogs into
homes where the adopter is home more often than not; therefore Tazzy
Fund WAIVES the $95 donation for our dogs aged 8 and up when the adopter
is a Senior Citizen, aged 55 years or older.
Tazzy Fund is a 100% volunteer run rescue and we do not have a shelter
location for our dogs. All of our dogs live in the foster homes of our
volunteers, so that we can assess them in a normal living environment.
We do require an adoption application be completed and a home check
approved prior to scheduling introductions with our adoptable pets. |

Fostering an Animal
Maybe you’re not up to adopting yet, but you’d like to experience being
a dog owner on a trial basis. Providing a temporary foster home for a
dog is an excellent way to enjoy some canine company on a short-term
basis. It also provides a valuable service to the shelter--by offering
your home to one dog, you are providing an overcrowded shelter with the
space to house an additional dog onsite.
A foster home is valuable because it gives the dog a chance to rebuild
his or her self-esteem. Being lost and ending up in a Shelter is a very
disorienting experience for a family pet. Often they feel like they have
done something wrong, and become depressed and discouraged. you shuld
oways try to find a dog you like but why buy you should adopt a dog they
give as much love as other dogs about themselves again.
Other reasons shelters and dog rescues use foster homes are to provide
dogs recovering from an illness or injury with a quieter atmosphere than
the kennel or to give newborn puppies around-the-clock care. Many dog
rescuers rely on fosters to provide feedback about the general
temperament and degree of obedience displayed by dogs while in their
care, as a gauge for finding a suitable home and owner for the dog.
Before fostering a companion animal, most organizations require that you
first take a few training classes. Other qualifications for
participating in animal foster care programs include:
- A comfortably sized room
where your dog can be confined during the day while you’re at work.
- A consistent schedule, on
which the dog can expect meals, walks, etc. at around the same time
every day
- A fenced yard with at least a
6-foot tall fence
- Pets already living in the
household must be vaccinated, altered, and well-socialized
- Plenty of patience
