Our Featured Pet...

Dottie, a Glouchestershire Old Spotted pig is our featured pet. Dottie is currently residing on a large horse rance, which she chose when she left or escaped her owner. Dottie seems to believe she is a HORSE. She runs in the pasture with her favorites and they have created games which even the horses enjoy. She squeals with delight when romping with them. Dottie is full of personality, loves people as much as her horse pals and never ceases to entertain and amaze her adopted care givers and visitors to the ranch. So the best place for Dottie is a home that does have horses. Dottie is a very special PET and not an ordinay 'pig', but rather a unique creature that needs a home that will revel in that uniqueness. She is great with all horses & humans, but we have no idea what she is like around other livestock. If someone is searching for that 'one of a kind' pet, here she is. Oh, minor detail, she will probably reach 500#, give or take a 100. .

News

We are a fairly new (named) rescue but very experienced with Potbelly Pigs and love them to pieces. But if you have a pet that you wish or need to re-home, please read this messsage first so you will know what to expect when contacting a rescue/sanctuary. http://www.9sites.com/response.htm

Who We Are

It is our goal to help re-home as many pigs in need, as possible. Because so many piglets are sold untamed, most of them reenter the system as unadoptable adults. That is a concern to us. We gladly rescue the young piglets in an effort to socialize and train the initially untouchable piglets, so that they have a excellent chance of getting into good homes and their new families will not become frustrated at their lack of manners thus dumping them back into the system.. If, by unforseen circumstances, they do re-enter the re-homing system, they will at least be adoptable. If more piglets are saved from animal auctions and potential food breeders, tamed and available through adoption, then the high priced breeders will no longer have a profitable market. Then hopefully they will stop breeding. I have taken & do take adults, although my space is limited, but can hopefully network toward assisting with foster placement for any potbelly in need.

Adopting a friend

Regardless of what type of pet you want to adopt, doing a lot of research is a necessity. Pigs have their own criteria, so read as much as you can about the pros and cons, then visit a pig rescue or sanctuary before deciding whether a pig is the right pet for you.
