HEROES K9 RESCUE & ADOPTIONS: "Heroes" is an acronym for "Hands-on Effort To Reduce Overpopulation, Euthanasia, and Suffering". The "Heroes" I'm referring to are those individuals who want to help save the life of a companion animal, whether it's through fostering, networking an animal, or adopting an animal....meaning, someone like you.

Hi there! I am Lacey Conner. I am best known for my "villainous" character that I played on Vh1's "Rock of Love" and "Charm School". But when it comes to animals, I am far from being a villain. I am huge advocate of animals, and especially shelter dogs. I started "Heroes K9 Rescue" in May of 2007, and since then, I have rescued, fostered (in my own home), and adopted out approximately 70 animals (including dogs and cats). All the dogs and cats that I rescue come from Los Angeles' depressing and overcrowded "high kill" animal shelters. These animals were once "red listed", meaning "next in line to be euthanized". The dogs (and sometimes cats) that I remove from the shelter always come home with me. Once they are at my home, they are comfortable and safe, until I can find a permanent loving home for them. Most of the dogs I get from the animal shelters are sick (the shelters don't have the funds needed to treat all the sick animals, so often times, that's why they get euthanized). So most of the companion animals that I rescue end up having to go to the vet and get treated. I've had dogs with ailments ranging from upper-respiratory infections, to mange, to broken bones, to cancer. It costs a lot of money to do rescue, treat, and foster these deserving animals, so donations are always welcome and appreciated! News:

UPDATED: January 8, 2010. Wow! 2009 was a busy year, and a great one! I got to meet a lot of wonderful individuals and families, who adopted animals from me! What a wonderful feeling. Plus, we got to save a lot of precious pooches from local animals shelter, who were all once in danger of being euthanized at the shelters they came from due to over-crowding.

Heroes K9 Rescue is taking a three month haitus from doing rescue work. We will be back, full force, starting in March. However, we will be posting wonderful dogs that need to be adopted that are in near-by shelters, so be sure to have a look at the ones that we have picked out to be featured on our Petfinder page. Click on the link at the top of this page, that says "Pets that we have available for adoption", to see these wonderful dogs that are all in need of loving homes.

By adopting a rescued dog, or shelter dog, you, too, can be a HERO!!

Thank you so much for your interest in saving the life of a companion animal!

Sincerely,

Lacey Conner of Heroes K9 Rescue & Adoptions
