Due to the lack of disclosure of the proceeds from the Chester "WAGGIN WALK" event in 2009 , Lassen Animal Rescue will not participate nor support this event should there be future "Waggen Walks".
LASSEN ANIMAL RESCUE IS NOT ASSOCIATED WITH "Treats Dog Company" OR "Chester Veterinary Clinic" the sponsors of Waggin Walk.
If you are approached for donations from these two companies, please report this to Lassen Animal Rescue at 530-256-3963
Lassen Animal Rescue is no longer accepting cats. We will however list your cats or kittens on our website as a "Courtesy" listing.
This is proving to be an unusually hard year for pets. They have been the victim of the economic downturn. We are dealing with an increase in surrendered animals where the owners can no longer afford to care for them. WE NEED YOUR HELP. PLEASE DONATE AS MUCH AS YOU CAN SO THESE PETS DO NOT SUFFER.
New California 2008 Animal Law
Senate Bill 353 will be in effect on January 1, 2008 and it will permit judges in domestic violence cases to include pets in their protective orders, thus declaring who may keep an animal or who must stay away from it.
2007 CALIFORNIA ANIMAL LAWS
Senate Bill 1578 prohibits tethering a dog to a stationary object for more than three hours. Senate Bill 2485 bans leaving pets unattended in vehicles when extreme weather, lack of food or other adverse condiions could cause suffering or harm.
WHO WE ARE
We are a non-profit corporation that was organized on November 1, 2006. We have an unending love for animals. We strive to rescue and place those little guys that have no homes at all. Although we are limited in space, we do work with other animal rescue groups and Lassen County Animal Control, to find safe havens for the huge animal overpopulation in Lassen and Plumas County. We have a NO KILL policy for adoptable animals. 100% of our donations go to the care of the animals. We have a 100% volunteer staff.
All of our adult animals are current on all vaccinations and have been altered. Please call us if you have a big heart and love animals as much as we do. 530-256-3963. Our e-mail address is lassenanimalrescue@yahoo.com or lassenanimalrescue@frontiernet.net.
