Truman is a beautiful buff tabby. He is a very sweet-natured cat. He is a bit shy at first, but super affectionate once he is comfortable. Truman is really smart (well, heck, he's named after a President)! He talks and loves to be petted! Once he gets to know you, foot rubs are his FAVORITE!!! He will rub you with has back paws just to get a little between the toes rubbing action! LOL

Looking for a new cat in Marin?
The Animal Sanctuary and Care Society - ASCS Cats is a Marin non-profit cat rescue and adoption organization, dedicated to finding homes for cats and kittens rescued from many different situations. Some have been given up by previous guardians who can no longer care for them, some simply abandoned. Others are rescued from the dozens of northern California shelters where they euthanize thousands of healthy, sweet, friendly cats for lack of space, funds or education. We try to help as many as we can.

- Every 1st and 3rd Saturday at Woodlands Pet Food & Treats in Strawberry Village, 12noon-4pm
- Every 4th Saturday at Woodlands Pet Food & Treats in Bon Air Center Greenbrae, 12noon-4pm

Foster a Cat ... Or Three ...
ASCS is actively recruiting foster homes to help us to rescue and re-home more cats. Times are tough right now for everyone, but especially for the animals. They desperately need your help to get out of shelters or off of the streets and adopted into new, forever homes! AND, of course, donations... food, toys, and money for our endless vet bills -- all is appreciated! (Please see PayPal Donation button below for your convenience!)
Who We Are
The Animal Sanctuary and Care Society (ASCS) is a non-profit 501 (c) 3 organization that has been rescuing and re-homing homeless cats in Marin County, California for over 12 years. We take in strays, abandoned and many, many cats scheduled to be euthanized at shelters and provide them with the necessary medical attention to be fostered or adopted into loving, responsible homes. Those who are not 'adoptable' are cared for for the rest of their lives. Animal Sanctuary and Care Society is a 'no kill' organization. We believe in spaying and neutering to limit over-population and reduce the suffering of homeless of cats.
Adopting a Friend
All ASCS kitties are tested for FIV/FeLV, spayed/neutered, vaccinated and microchipped before being adopted to you. Those who require it have had bloodwork done, their teeth cleaned or any other medical issue resolved. We hold a Marin cat adoption events (where we show our cats):
- Every Sunday at Petco in the Montecito Shopping Center, San Rafael, 12noon–4pm
- Every 1st and 3rd Saturday at Woodlands Pet Food & Treats in Strawberry Village, 12noon-4pm
- Every 4th Saturday at Woodlands Pet Food & Treats in Bon Air Center Greenbrae, 12noon-4pm
For information on how to adopt one of our cats, please download the application and agreement and call Debbie 415-548-0824. We ask you to fill one out and to answer a few questions because we try very hard to match the right kitty to the right home and we ALWAYS take our cats back if it isn't a good match. We also deliver our cats to their new home! ASCS asks a $110 adoption fee to offset our expenses and to allow us to rescue another kitty! In an effort to find homes for our "senior cats", our adoption fee is $80 for cats 8 years and older... You know, kitties can live to be 20!
