Who We Are
Independent Rescuers are various individuals who rescue stray animals BEFORE they are impounded in the overcrowded shelters. Each animal listed is with an independent person who has either agreed to help someone place their pet so it doesn't have to be taken to a shelter. In the case of stray animals that each rescuer finds, every attempt to locate the homeless animal's owner is made by posting flyers throughout the area where the animal was found, scanning it for a microchip, notifying the local shelters that the animal was found and posting the animal on the online adoption sites. If no owner is found, then its rescuer provides needed care, food and fostering for the pet until a permanent, loving home can be found.
