PLEASE HELP US WITH A DONATION TODAY!

Who We Are

In my volunteering for a breed-specific national organisation, I have come across many other feline's, just as deserving, but not of a specific breed, that I just could not turn my back on. Thus was born, Kat's Cats! If you would like to volunteer by fostering a cat, please contact us! . Our application to become a non-profit organisation is pending.
~*~Unfortunately, due to lack of foster homes, we are unable to take in any companion cats surrendered by their current owners. We are willing to help you find homes, if you will remain committed to your pet during the process, and keep them safe in your homes. ~*~

News

It is with the deepest sadness and emptiness that we have had to say goodbye to our dear, beloved, very special boy; Roady. His battle came to an end 7/28/09 after 4 wonderful years with us. He was just shy of 8 yrs old. In Roadys' Memory we will continue on...

FOREVER LOVED, FOREVER MISSED - ALWAYS WITH LOVE, MOMMIE KAT.

~*~ROADY'S MIRACLE JOURNEY~*~
Roady, the cat that after a year of feeding outside my home - who dashed away when done eating, finally asked for my help. He looked terrible that August evening in 2005, and I thought he had been abused or hit by a car.

He looked considerably older than what he really is too. Thanks to wonderful doners a surgery was able to be performed that removed the infected parts, sadly tests of those tissues showed that he has an aggressive form of cancer in his mouth.

Even a vet specialist in cancer did not give him much time, that he wouldn't make it through 2005. Well here it is March 2009 and he is thriving and happy as can be! He does take 2 medicines daily (clavamox to stabilize infections, & metacam, which is an anti-inflammatory and pain med., that I now swear is also an anti-cancer drug!) and is tested often to keep him in check. As of March, he started showing some abnormalities with kidney function thus he required lactated ringers twice weekly and testing more often. My primary vet is still in awe over his survival. Roady is what rescue is all about to me. Nobody gave him the chance, the love, the time to be a fabulous house cat, but I did, and am thankful everyday that I did!

In July 2009 his condition quickly & seriously worsened; his liver and bladder started failing him and we had him hospitalized, took him to a specialist and still could not find the answers on a prognosis or on a definate plan of treatment; a broad plan of treatment had been tried ;hoping to cover all basis'. He had survived far longer than expected and had been a happy, loving boy...forever in my care.

To donate to the care of our cats; please use our paypal button below or send via postal mail to our address above.

Should you choose to donate anonymously, please let me thank you most sincerely NOW! It takes so many to save animals; from shelter scouts, to foster homes, sometimes even transporters, and the backbone of rescue; our financial doners. Without all of us, doing what each of us are capable of, is why cats; even like Roady, are safe & happy, and living like domesticated cats were intended to live! Thank You to all of you.

In Loving, Fond Memory...

HOPE
~~9/23/04 - 3/28/05~~

This sweetheart was on earth far too short for the sweetness she had to offer. She loved to cuddle and headbutt and play with her foster brothers and sisters. The corona virus mutated and turned into FIP we believe. There are no tests to positively identify this dreadful condition. She was suffering, so with a heavy heart, I let her go to the Rainbow Bridge. I miss her dearly. I know she is now happily playing, and that she will greet me in her sweet way, when I arrive...someday.
I Love you, Hope! Always Your Mommie, KAT

JANUARY 10, 2005 (healthy & happy)
MARCH 25, 2005(sick with FIP)

SIMON
~~ 9/29/04 - 11/27/06~~

Surrendered to a scary shelter by his previous owner, I as a foster for MCR, took in this beautiful soul at the end of Sept. 2006. I knew the love this beautiful boy had was unmatched. His health rapidly deteriated though we tried every test imaginable to get to the source of his decline, we never did get an answer. Simon & I tried hard to reverse things. He knew I adored him and then one day he let me know that he was tired of fighting and I knew I had to let him go. With a heavy heart I sent him to the bridge to be healthy again and to play like the young cat he was.
I'll always miss this gentle giant, Simon baby.
Love Always Sweetheart, Mommie KAT.

We are both sincerely grateful to Maine Coon Rescue (MCR) for going to the ends of this earth financially and emotionally to help beautiful Simon.

KIKI
~*~12/20/2001 - 1/24/2010~*~

KiKi was loved, but that love could not remove his intestinal cancer, nor did a very delicate operation to remove it. He was a doll both in looks and in his soul; gentle, affectionate, and all-loving of humans. He knew, as I helped him cross over to the bridge, that we had done the best we could and we loved him deeply. With a gentle breath; he said Goodbye...I'll wait for you at the Rainbow Bridge. We miss him so much.
~Love Forever, Mommie Kat

TNR - Helping Ferals & Displaced Cats

Feeding displaced & feral cats is not enough. Getting cats sterilized so that more homeless cats are not produced and in need of food & shelter is another crucial need! If you decide to feed a displaced cat, please be responsible and contact a vet about getting that cat sterilized as well. For feral cats, TNR is the best route. TNR or Trap, Neuter, & Release will keep the population down & greatly reduce their death rate. Please visit the below links for organisations geared towards helping citizens be part of the solution.
