Welcome to the new City of Sanger adoption site. Our program is still in the beginning stages, but we are now able to provide adoption services to the community and surrounding areas inexpensively. All animals will be spay/neutered and vaccinated (including rabies vaccine for the dogs) before going to their new homes. We are now open to the public on the first and third Saturdays of the month from 10:00am to 2:00pm. If you are unable to visit us during our normal adoption hours, please feel free to call or email (information below) for an appointment. Our adoptable animals can now also be seen on the site.
Who We Are
The new shelter and adoption program in the City of Sanger are run by the Sanger Police Department Animal Control. The shelter is a recent addition to the city, but the adoption program is brand new. The Sanger City Council has recently passed our adoption program proposal and we will now be able to offer adoption services right here at home and give homeless or lost pets a second chance.
Adopting a friend
If you are interested in adopting a dog or cat, please browse are adoptable pet list and come visit us on the first and third Saturdays of the month to see the animals in person. If you are unable to come during our regular adoption times, then please make an appointment by calling or sending an email (information below). We will be happy to accomadate you if you are interested in getting a new pet. You will be required to fill out an adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee of $85.00 for dogs and $55.00 for cats. The adoption fee includes the spay/neuter of the animal and their vaccines(including rabies for the dogs). Please keep in mind that all dogs that reside in the city limits of Sanger are required to have a current license. The cost of the City of Sanger dog license ranges from $11.50 for one year to $34.50 for three years for altered dogs, there is also a senior discount!
Come Visit Us!
We now have regular hours of adoption! We are open the first and third Saturdays of every month from 10:00am to 2:00pm. The shelter is located at the Sanger City Yard, 333 North Ave. (east of the city). It is also possible to make an appointment outside of the regular hours if needed, just give us a call or email (information below). We will be happy to accomadate you if you are interested in getting a new pet.
