Adoption Process

Please download and read our adoption contract first so that you can become familiar with our adoption policies.

Next download our adoption application, which is in Microsoft Word format. Fill it out and save it to your computer under a name such as "First and Last Name for Certain Dog." Spend some time on it- it's our only way to get to know you!

WHAT IS AN UNDERDOG?

We are the Underdog Rescue, meaning we often take the animals that are passed over by other rescues or are harder to adopt.

What kinds of dogs are harder to adopt? Large breeds, dogs older than a year, black dogs, and males.

If you are looking for a small breed, female puppy . . . you are not looking to "rescue" a dog. These types of dogs often have long waiting lists because people will only open their hearts and their homes to them . . . rather than considering truly saving a life by adopting a sweet animal that had the misfortune to be born black, or male, or large breed.

News

We are looking to build our volunteer program and are in desperate need of foster homes. Because we are a rescue rather than a shelter, we don't have a facility to house the dogs. We rely on people to open their hearts and homes temporarily to a sweet puppy or dog.

The more foster homes we have, the more dogs we can save! Let's work together!

Who We Are

CURE is a rescue organization that is dedicated to finding homes for abandoned and abused animals, educating the public about responsible pet ownership, and promoting the spaying and neutering of pets.

Adopting a friend

All of the information we know about an animal is included in the description. . . including the adoption fee, what's included in the adoption fee, and socialization. Please email us and let us know you're interested in one of our Pound Puppies or Kitties. We will always reply, usually within a couple of hours. We will send you an application and contract. Please read over both and return the completed application via email. (We do not have a fax as of yet.)

Come Visit Us!

We are a rescue, rather than a shelter. We place all of our animals in foster homes and when someone is interested in an animal or two we have the Adoption Supervisor meet with the potential adoptive family in a secure location that will not be released until you are approved for adoption.
