The mission of the BC SPCA is to prevent cruelty and promote the welfare of animals. We investigate complaints of cruelty and neglect, conduct humane education programs (including a summer camp and school presentations), have an animal assisted activites program, have a foster parent program, do animal control in our community, and provide shelter for homeless and/or abandoned animals.
The animals must be spayed or neutered. Animals living in city limits must be licensed. The adopters must provide humane treatment to their animal at all times. We will not adopt to minors without parental consent and we will not adopt to people under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Adopters are not allowed to give the animal away for atleast one year without SPCA approval and must agree to let SPCA officials come into their house to do an inspection after the adoption.
