Ralph is a handsome adult cat who came into the Maple Ridge SPCA in January 2009 as a stray. Though he waited patiently, no family came to claim him. Ralph has the most silky black fur and he loves to be petted by his favorite people! He reaches through the bars of his cage hoping the passerby will take a moment to give him some love! He has a little squeaky meow that he uses to call out for attention! It's irresistable! Ralph is great with older children and adults but toddlers may find him too overwhelming! He loves to play! His exuberance may also put off other cats! Ralph prefers not to share attention with members of the canine family so a dog free home would suit him best! If you are looking for a fun loving, easy going feline companion please come and check out Ralph - he's sure to melt your heart!
Our Featured Dog...
"DUFFY"
Duffy is a handsome dog who was surrendered to the Maple Ridge SPCA by his previous owners. Duffy spent much of his life chained up and is now looking for a home where he can become part of a family who will LOVE him FOREVER. Duffy is a SMART dog who would benefit from some obedience lessons. He knows his basic commands but could use some brushing up! Duffy will need to have lots of time for playing, exercising and mental stimulation. Duffy seems to get along with other dogs but would prefer a home where he is the only pet. No cats for Duffy! If you are looking for a loyal, loving companion, please come and visit with Duffy.
We desperately need dog walkers in the afternoons! Approximate times 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm. Please contact us at the shelter or drop in for more information.
We urgently need foster homes for animals with common, minor illnesses such as cat flu who just need a safe place to recover and for animals who are pregnant or too young to be at the shelter. During kitten season (April - September), we need foster homes for moms and babies until the babies are at least 8 weeks old.
We are always in urgent need of cat and kitten food.
You can find more detailed information, such as a link to our on-line foster form and a map for finding our shelter at the BC SPCA's Maple Ridge shelter page.
Who We Are
We are a branch of the BC SPCA serving primarily the communities of Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows. We have cats, dogs and rabbits for adoption and we also have small pets such as hamsters and sometimes small farm animals such as ducks. Our pets are listed here on the Petfinder site and we strive to keep this listing current. Pets turned in as strays must be held for five days to give the owner an opportunity to reclaim them. If not reclaimed, they can then be adopted.
Adopting a friend
Come and meet our pets. They are all wonderful and just waiting for the right person! There is a pre-adopt form to complete so we can ensure a good match of pet and home. There is also the standard SPCA adoption contract to complete. Please remember that a pet is a lifelong commitment. Keep their life span in mind when you adopt.
See BC SPCA's Maple Ridge shelter page for current adoption prices.
