Our shelter is one of 32 branches of the BCSPCA, serving the animals of British Columbia. Our shelter is unique in that it is not only an Adoption Centre, but also acts as an Animal Protection Centre when needed. Our mandate is to prevent cruelty to, and promote the welfare of, all animals.
We are open to the public on Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 12pm to 5:00 pm.
We are closed Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and statutory holidays.
Staff and volunteers are available on site to help the public during the hours listed.
Where We Are
We are located at 4800 Haney road in Vernon, BC. This is located off of Old Kamloops Road, and at the end of Haney Road. We encourage the public to visit us during visiting hours, and look forward to seeing you soon!
Interested in Volunteering?
We are always looking for interested people to help at the shelter. There are many different opportunities to help: dog walking, kennel cleaning, animal welfare, office (adoptions, reception, etc...) and fundraising. If you want to help out, why not dedicate a few hours a week of your time, to make life easier for the animals in our care.
Another great way to help is to become a foster parent to an animal in need. We foster out animals that require more care than we may be able to provide them in the shelter enviornment. This includes injured and/or sick animals and those that are too young to be in a shelter enviornment. Give the gift of love and help an animal by becoming a foster parent.
Applications for both volunteering and Fostering are available at the shelter, or can be found online at the BCSPCA website.
