How we became Sheriffs Rescue

In 2009 I rescued a very special Dachshund .This little dog when I met him he was in a terrible place. The moment I saw him I was in love !He was vetted immediately and needed extensive dental work. He became a special memeber of our family. Three weeks later he fell over on the living room floor and was in pain and shaking. I took him to my veterinarian right away, and he recommended that I take him in the morning to Can West Clinic . That night I stayed up with him it was one of the saddest nights of my life ,I gave him pain medication to make him comfortable and I just held him, but he just looked at me as if to say "thank-you ,but I am in pain ". He could not use his back legs. The next morning we took him to the clinic and were told that he could not tolerate the medication he was taking, and would always be in pain.He was not a candite for the operation on his back and it would be the best to put him down. His name was SHERIFF. I vowed that day that I would do whatever it takes to help the Dachshunds ! Since then I have been rescuing ! I have not been able to say no to any dog yet ! SHERIFF RESCUE dogs come from many situations, dogs are injured and their owners cannot afford or provide appropriate care, sometimes dogs are used solely as breeding vessels and are tossed aside when they are no longer useful, families sometimes under-estimate what dog ownership requires and realize too late that they cannot care for their pet ,sometimes dogs outlive their humans and there is no one to take them in ,and from overcrowed shelters facing death row.Whatever their need I do my best to provide the love and care they require.I run this rescue from my own funds and from the funds attained from the adoptions.I believe that if we all work together we can make a difference ! f

ONLINE APPLICATION can be found on our website at www.sheriffsrescue.com **Please note I do not adopt to the USA unless it is a breed specific dog that you can not find in your area.. There is so many dogs in need in that I would encourage anyone from the USA to adopt from the overflowing shelters or rescues in your area .
