This is Cookie. She is a very sad girl and in desperate need of a good and loving home! Don't pass her by so quickly!!! Cookie is a beautiful black and tan Rottweiler German Shepherd cross who has never had a chance to bloom and grow into the dog I know she can be. All she needs is a chance.
This poor sweet girl has spent the seven years of her life at the end of a chain in a yard. Because of this she is very under socialized and nervous of strangers. She was surrendered to the shelter and she needs an understanding home where she can learn to socialize again. She is so unhappy here but I know there is a lot more to this dog than what meets the eye.
I believe this is a very special dog that with some loving kindness would become your best and closest friend and loyal companion!!! She is spayed, up to date on vaccines, well trained and is on a raw food diet that she really loves and has a shiny, healthy coat.
Please give her a chance to prove herself, you won't be sorry you did!
In one of the photos it almost looks like she is praying!

On January 8, 2007, Richmond's mayor and council voted unanimously to make the Richmond Animal Protection Society their new partner in caring for the homeless animals of our city.
RAPS is a registered charity that rescues and cares for homeless and abandoned animals.
We are a no-kill shelter. We take in surrendered animals from Richmond provided they are healthy. If your pet is ill, please bring him to a veterinarian for medical treatment as we are unable to provide free veterinary services.
We also operate a shelter with over 800 cats on No. 6 Rd. For more information about this other shelter, click here.
If you would like to adopt an animal, the adoption hours are as follows:
Monday-Friday, 12 to 5:30 p.m
weekends, 12 to 4:30 p.m.
