*** We are a privately run rescue, completely organised by volunteers. No one is paid to work with the animals in our care, every bit of time dedicated to this organization comes from the hearts of our volunteers. please remember that we all have families and lives outside of rescue , Just like you. Adoption from us takes time and does not happen over night. We screen our potential adoptive homes and you must fill out an application form and be approved BEFORE you can adopt. All of our birds are in fosterhomes. br>

Birdseed , Cages, Bird and small animal toys of all shapes and sizes, Treats, Natural branches for perches (must be bird safe) Wood shavings, Hay , Birdbaths, rubbermaid bins in all sizes, small carry cages or tiny crates.
please contact us if you have something you think we or someone else might be able to use. We are happy to forward you to other rescues who can use any pet food or supplies you no longer need. Please remember that with out your help, other rescues as well as ours can not continue to provide the services we do for the community. Generosity and kindness goes a long way in rescue! Every little bit counts.

Who We Are
We are a small non-profit rescue organization located in Chilliwack British Columbia Canada.We are a network of volunteers. We deal with the fostering and re-homing of unwanted, Lost, or abused pet birds.
We will do our best to take in any bird in British Columbia that is unable to remain in it's current home for whatever reason. From Finches to Macaws, We will do our best to help any animal in need.
We do our best to never turn away an animal in need. we will do everything we can to help you..even if it is forwarding you on to another organization. We also take in other animals occationally if the need is great and no one else is available to help.
We also take in lost or abandoned birds and do everything we can to try and reunite them with there owners. if you have lost a bird PLEASE contact us as we will do everything we can to assist you in finding your lost friend.
Also please contact us if you have found a bird...it may be tempting to keep an animal you may find.. but you should still let us know as chances are there is someone out there franticly looking for there escaped pet. It may have health problems or need medication or special care.
***PLEASE NOTE: we can not take in wild birds of any sort. please contact a wildlife rehabilitator near you if you need help with a wild animal.
Adopting a friend
We have many birds needing to be adopted..
Please forward anyone looking to adopt a new bird out our way. Please consiter rescue over pet stores. We can tell you everything we know about any animal you are interested in. you are much more likely to end up with a happy pet and a good relationship with it if you know the background information.
We have lots of beautiful companion birds currently looking for new homes. To adopt from us you Must be in British Columbia withing driving distance of the shelter. WE DO NOT SHIP under ANY circomstances. We also do not place or animals into breeding situations. Please contact us if you see anyone you are interested in adopting.
All adoption fees go directly back into supporting our ongoing efforts.
We have an application form you must fill out and have approved. This can take a few days or even a week or more. Please dont expect to email us and have your pet the next day... that is not how things work with us. To recieve an application form please send an email to FIDS@Shaw.ca and request one.
Once again, We DO NOT ship our birds AT ALL.(not even if the trip is quick) so dont even ask! You must be within driving distance to adopt from us.
