Who We Are
Without Borders Boxer Rescue (WBBR) is an organization of volunteers who
are dedicated to finding loving forever homes for homeless boxers and
promoting responsible pet ownership. We are affiliated with Boxer
Rescue Los Angeles (http://www.boxer-rescue-la.com) and work with other
rescue groups, shelters, veterinarians and breeders to help achieve our goals.
The dogs that are placed by WBBR are usually homeless due to no fault of
their own. They come to us through BRLA, local shelters, breeders or
are surrendered to us directly by their previous owners. They arrive in
rescue for various reasons, from being to big/hyper to the family having
to move, but one thing always stays the same, they are wonderful boxers who would
love to have a forever family to call their own.
Once they arrive with WBBR they are placed in foster care where their
personality is assessed and they are provided with any needed medical
care. All our dogs are spayed or neutered, brought up to date on their
vaccines and are seen by our veterinarian before placement. WBBR/LA
boxers are housed at the BRLA shelter or in foster care in the Los Angeles area. While in the care of BRLA they are assessed and provided with any needed medical
care. Before they are flown to Canada they will be spayed/neutered,
brought up to date on shots and will be seen by a BRLA veterinarian.
All our potential homes must fill out an adoption application and have a
home visit. All members of the family must be home for the home visit.
We want to have a chance to get to know your family so as to find the
best possible match for you. All our dogs had had at least one previous
family, some of them might have had more. We want to make sure that their
placement is successful and that this will be their forever home.
With all of our adoptions we ask for an adoption donation. (WBBR/BRLA
adoptions require their new owners to pay an adoption donation along
with the cost of the airfare and crate.) The donation goes towards the
costs that were involved with your specific boxer but also with others.
Many boxers arriving in rescue require hundreds of dollars and sometimes more of
medical care. One adoption donation is not enough to cover the costs.
Your donation helps both your boxer and future boxers who come to WBBR.
WBBR's volunteers are all amazing individuals. We work very hard to
care for each boxer that comes to WBBR. Please remember we are all
volunteers, we have jobs, families and our own dogs to care for. Please
be patient, we will return your phone call or email as quickly as possible.
