WAHS PRESS RELEASE "Western Arizona Humane Society/Kingman Calendar of Events!

Huge Thank You's to the Kignman Academy of Learning High School, the Key Club a student lead organization set up a great fundraiser for us named "Edible Efforts" where bags of candy were offered for a donation. WAHS received a generous check for their efforts. Also a Huge Thank You to VFW in Meadview who collected donations for our animals in 2011, our sincere thanks for all the success of this fundraiser.

News / Dog Training...

We have great news! Western Arizona Humane Society in Kingman now offers "Professional Dog Training" Our Dog Training classes are offered weekly for the summer months !!!!

Saturday early mornings at the shelter located at 950 Buchanan in Kingman. Please call for times.

Your dog will learn to sit, down, heel, come & take a break, on & off leash! Also STOP all unwanted behavior; jumping, barking, chewing, escaping, biting, house soiling & much more. Classes are $10.00 and 50% of the proceeds will go to the “Spay/Neuter” program at the Kingman Humane Society.

Roy Hayes is the instructor. Roy has trained more than 8,000 dogs and their owners over 20 years.

Who We Are...

WAHS/Kingman serves all of Mohave County. We house & care for the lost, homeless, sometimes un-wanted & abandoned domestic Dogs & Cats.

Our facility has recently been renovated to a friendly atmosphere where our guests are always clean, fed & treated with respect. .
We will not turn away or refuse and pet in need of our assistance.

Our guests (dogs & cats) come to us from many different circumstances.
We sadly have many strays found & brought to us from the public, owner give-up pets & hard luck cases are received daily.
We also shelter & care for domestic animals received from the city of Kingman Police Department & Mohave County Animal Control.

Adopting a friend...

Our adoption fees include spay / neutering & medical exam with a local veterinarian.

Dog/Puppy adoption fees:

$60.00 + shots & license
(includes their first parvo/distemper shots)

Cat/Kitten adoption fees:

$45.00 + shots
(no license required)

These prices include the spay/neuter, a free health exam from local vets, shots & license. We can even microchip your new friend for just $20.00 including a lifetime registration!

Every pet adopted receives a medical record starter kit, a gift bag with valuable coupons and samples, informative reading materials, tips for new pet ownership and dog or cat toys while supplies last.

Monday through Saturday 10:00 am to 4:00 pm  


Our volunteers are indispensable. Caring, dedicated women and men donate hours in virtually every department of the shelter. Some are here 2 or 3 days per week, while others come in one afternoon.
