Our Featured Pet...

Hi my name is Bella and I am so cute. I'm a bit shy when you are new but very sweet and give kisses too. I'm just one year so still very much a puppy. I am house trained, kennel trained, and I don't chew. My energy is all puppy. I am a Golden, mixed with some sort of sporting breed so I have a keen sense to work ethic and will give you direction. The rescue of course can't tell which sporting dog 100% without a DNA because a working dog is a working dog, but I'm a cute one. I would like to go to a home that I can do some training with someone that will run me and play with me. I love to play fetch. I need a strong leader or I will lead you. I learn so fast and I am in a special foster home that is working with me to see exactly my issues, if there are any. My need is that I am a working dog that requires direction as to whom the alpha is. I am following the lead well and if I have a "puppy-parent" that can give me training in my play time, life will be of the best. I am active and I am doing amazing on a leash, but my foster mom is working with me too. I don't ask for much but I am not that puppy that wants to sit around waiting on you for ten hour days and then you go to bed. I am not broken because I have breed traits, I just need to understand which traits are allowed or are certainly not allowed. I can not learn on my own and I love to eat, so its a great place to start my training. I am under evaluation for medical but that is going well, so if you decide you love me, you will need to have an application in and call the placement lady. She can fill you in. I am so happy to play and have been to several events with my rescue people. I will update myself when I have more information.

Who We Are

Arizona Golden Rescue is an all-volunteer, non-profit, charitable organization whose mission is to rescue displaced Golden Retrievers and mostly-Golden mixes that have been abused, abandoned, neglected or unwanted and find new, permanent homes for them. Rescued dogs are given a complete veterinary exam and their vaccines are updated; they are also microchipped, spayed or neutered, and tested for valley fever and heartworm. AGR provides emotional and medical rehabilitation and will pay for medications and for necessary surgeries. Through education at public appearances, AGR seeks to educate the public about the Golden Retriever breed and about responsible dog ownership, in order to help reduce the unwanted dog population.
