Who We Are

Power Road Animal Hospital is a full service animal hospital. We are here to provide owners and pets with the best health care available in a professional, caring and compassionate environment. We do have many wonderful animals available for adoption. Our adoption program is available to those animals which are less fortunate and whose owners may not be able to afford their care, by accepting such animals into our program. Doing this, they may still receive the care that they need. While the adoptees are in our care, we treat them as though they were our own pets. However, nothing can compare to the love of a real family so we do our best to find loving homes that are good for each animal. We choose new families based on compatability. We conduct interviews and have questionnaires to help us get to know you and your family. The cost of adoption varies depending on the animal. Adult dogs & cats generally adopt for $100 for one pet, $150 for two, and $200 for three pets. Puppy & kitten adoption fees vary. The adoption fee includes age appropriate vaccines, spay/neuter, microchip, ID tag, deworming, flea and tick treatment, heartoworm testing and heartguard (dogs), and Felv/FIV test (cats only). All of our adoptable cats and kittens are feline leukemia and feline immunodeficiency tested and are negative. Kittens and puppies are not spayed or neutered until they are 5 months old. We cover their full series of vaccines and when they receive their 4th set, they are altered and micro-chipped. We prefer to micro-chip while they are under anesthesia so that it is less painful. Canine vaccines include DHPP (distemper/parvo), Rabies, and Bordetella. Felines receive FVRCP, Rabies, and a vaccine to prevent feline leukemia. We do our best to make sure our adoptables are healthy and happy when they find their new forever homes!

All of our adoptables are part of our family here at Power Road. We love and care for them as though they were our own. We want those who decide to adopt to take the decision seriously. We expect a lifetime commitment to the pet. We'd like for all of our feline adoptees to be indoor only. We have this requirement because we want them to be safe from dangers associated with being outdoors for extended periods of time such as cars, disease, other feral cats, and the weather.
