Who We Are

Amazing Aussies is a small 501 (c) (3) organization based in the Phoenix, AZ area. We specialize in rescuing Aussies that are born from Merle to Merle breeding. These pups are born blind, deaf or deaf and blind in varying degrees. They are known as Lethal Whites (the scientificly correct name for these pups is Homzygous Merle or Double Merle) not because they will die from their genetics, but because being born deaf and blind is lethal to them. They are killed at birth...or even older when the breeder cannot place them, sold without informing the buyer that they are deaf, dumped at pounds and on the side of roads. They are told they have no quality of life and are left abandoned and abused. We strive to educate those we can and help rescue and place the pups from those we cannot.

Adopting a friend

Amazing Aussies is a small rescue and all our dogs are in foster homes as a family member. All our dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations and microchipped before going to their forever homes

Our adoption process consists of an adoption application, a phone interview, a home check, and finally a meet n'greet with our foster pup and the potential adoptive home pets. Our process can take anywhere from a week to two weeks, depending on availability of the potential adoptive home and our volunteers.

Our main concern is placing our animals in a compatible home with a family that will give them a LIFETIME commitment of love and proper care. This consultation process is designed to help us determine if the adoption is in the best interest of both the animal and the adopter.

We only adopt our dogs within Arizona and to some surrounding Southwestern states, such as California, Colorado, Nevada, Utah, and New Mexico. Because we offer 24/7 support for our dogs, we must be able to reach them in a reasonable period of time if on-site help is needed. We DO NOT SHIP OUR DOGS under any circumstances. If an adoption is out-of -state, the adopter MUST come to Arizona to meet our dog.

We always take our dogs back if at any time the adopter can no longer keep or care for a dog.

We attend many adoption events with PACC911 from the Fall to the Spring. When our Arizona summer starts, it is too hot for outdoor events, so we have teamed up with several PetCo stores to hold adoption events on the weekends.

Our pups can be seen at 5 PetCo stores in the Phoenix area and 1 PetCo in Tucson on roatating weekends from 11 am to 3 pm. Please click on the EVENTS link below to go to our website for details!
