News

FAIR runs many special events throughout the year including free spay/neuter clinics in conjunction with ABC Vet Clinics and Arizona Spay & Neuter. To see what's coming up, please visit our web site at www.FairCares.org. You can also see one of FAIR's animals in the Arizona Daily Star's Accent section every Saturday.

Who We Are

FAIR is a nonprofit, no-kill animal rescue organization located in Tucson, Arizona. FAIR is dedicated to finding good homes for animals who would otherwise be destroyed by local animal control agencies.

FAIR does not have a shelter, so most of our animals live in foster homes. Using foster homes also allows us to know how an animal will do in a home setting.

Adopting a friend

FAIR places thousands of animals each year. FAIR puts its animals on display in local PETsMART stores in Pima County. It is at these stores that you can meet and adopt one of our animals. To see a list of adoption times and store addresses, please visit our Locations page.

The adoption process is simple. When you've found an animal you'd like to adopt, we ask you to sit down with an adoption counselor who will discuss your situation with you and help you determine if you and the animal you've chosen will be a good match. After that, there's some paperwork to fill out.

Adoption fees for dogs vary from $99 to $250. Included in this fee are: spaying or neutering, vaccinations, microchip, licensing in Pima County, Arizona for dogs over 3 months old, a free consultation with one of several veterinarians in Pima County, and one month of Shelter Care veterinary insurance.

Adoption fees for cats vary from $99 to $200. This includes: spaying or neutering, vaccinations, microchip, tests for feline immunodeficiency virus and feline leukemia, a free consultation with one of several veterinarians in Pima County, and one month of Shelter Care veterinary insurance.
