through the Shelter Care gift program.
Who We Are
Foothills Animal Rescue (FAR) is a non-profit, volunteer organization established in 1995. The mission of FAR is to provide shelter, care and adoption services for many of the thousands of domestic cats and dogs that stray, become lost or are abandoned each year in Maricopa county. FAR also provides animal adoption services for pet owners who, due to circumstances, must give up their animal.Domestic cats and
dogs are not equipped to survive without human support. Most
lost or abandoned animals quickly become malnourished and many
are injured making them easy prey for the area's coyotes and
hawks.
FAR maintains a no-kill policy and all sheltered animals are
cared for until such time as a suitable adoption is arranged.
All animals offered for adoption by FAR have been given medical attention and are in good health. Additionally, all animals have been spayed or neutered to help reduce current over population.
Adopting a friend
Adoption Fees ~ Cats are $80.00 each or two for $120.00 & Dogs are $110 each or two for $175 (includes spay/neuter and vaccinations)
Please call the FAR office at 480-488-9890 to set up an appointment to meet our listed animals in their foster homes.
Our group also sponsors weekly Saturday adoption services at our rescue facility at 37555 N. Cave Creek Road in Cave Creek, and at other locations. Please see our calendar for details. In addition, volunteers at the shop in Cave Creek will put interested adopters in touch with foster families so that animals can be seen by appointment at any time during the week.
