Who We Are
Foothills Animal Rescue (FAR) is a non-profit, volunteer organization established in 1995. The mission of FAR is to provide shelter, care and adoption services for many of the thousands of domestic cats and dogs that stray, become lost or are abandoned each year in Maricopa county. FAR has a focus on animals with special needs. FAR also provides animal adoption services for pet owners who, due to circumstances, must give up their animal.Domestic cats and
dogs are not equipped to survive without human support. Most
lost or abandoned animals quickly become malnourished and many
are injured making them easy prey for the area's coyotes and
hawks.
FAR maintains a no-kill policy and all sheltered animals are
cared for until such time as a suitable adoption is arranged.
All cats offered for adoption by FAR have been given medical attention, are in good health, vaccinated, FeLV/FIV tested, microchipped and altered. All dogs offered for adoption by FAR have been given medical attention, are in good health, vaccinated, microchipped and altered.
Adopting a friend
Adoption Fees ~ Cats are $80.00 each or two for $120.00 & Dogs are $110 each or two for $175 (includes spay/neuter and vaccinations)
Please call the FAR office at 480-488-9890 to set up an appointment to meet our listed animals in their foster homes.
Our group sponsors weekly adoption services at a variety of locations. Please see our calendar for details. In addition, volunteers will put interested adopters in touch with foster families so that animals can be seen by appointment at any time during the week.
