Our Featured Pet...

Ivan is a 31/2 year-old black and white GSP. He was pulled from an AZ shelter, as his time was running out. He was picked up as a stray, but the owner decided not to claim him, as he said he had too much energy. Well, it turns out that he’s simply a typical GSP, in need of adequate exercise and basic obedience. He is thriving in his foster home. He is learning commands such as Whup ( stay ) and heal , and his foster dad has even trained him to go get his leash when it’s time to go out. He lets you know when its time to go out by letting out little whines and grunts, sometimes a very low bark.See, Ivan, like all GSPs, just needed some structure and training in order to blossom into the wonderful dog he is becoming. He is eager to please, and is picking up on his commands very quickly. He’s a happy boy and enjoys going for runs and playing fetch as well as watching, chasing and pointing birds. He loves his tennis ball and his bird dummy. He also knows his command to go into his kennel inside or outside. He like every GSP loves to be praised after doing a command correctly, and is very eager to please his handler. He gets along well with other dogs, and has 6 canine companions in his foster home. Like most GSPs, Ivan probably wouldn’t do well with a feline companion, although he has not chased the house cat here yet, just shows interest, so a home with no cats might, be best. Ivan is a very strong willed and physical, energetic dog, so you must be able to keep up with him and his busy and exercise needed days.
