Havanese Rescue Inc. (HRI) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization formed for the charitable purposes of rescuing purebred Havanese and Havanese mixes which are homeless or soon-to-be-homeless, including those found in animal shelters or similar facilities and those released by their owners. HRI facilitates the pick-up and transport of such dogs; arranges for their spay/neuter as well as for the provision of other appropriate veterinary care for them; rehabilitates and fosters such dogs; seeks applications for and screens permanent homes for such dogs and facilitates their adoption. HRI also focuses on education of the public about puppy mills and pet stores and advocates and educates the public about responsible care, training and ownership of Havanese and other pets.
Who We Are
Havanese Rescue Inc is an independent charitable organization which is not exclusively affiliated with any breed club. either locally or nationally.
Our goal is to cooperate with ALL Havanese Clubs on a both a national and local level. Although membership in a Havanese Breed Club is not a requirement for our volunteers, we do encourage members of all clubs dedicated to the well-being of Havanese Dogs to join us as volunteers in our effort to save those Havanese which are left homeless and in need of our care.
We also hope that both regional and national Havanese Breed Clubs will become affiliated with Havanese Rescue Inc to provide financial assistance in the effort of rescuing and re-homing Havanese Dogs.
We have always been, and remain, committed to maintaining the highest standards of behaviour in our relationships with potential adopters of homeless Havanese and members of all Havanese Breed Clubs.
