Who We Are

BARK is a Non-Profit, No Kill, All Volunteer Animal Rescue Organization whose purpose is to address the problem of over population of companion animals in Pima County in two ways: *Provide foster home care and adoption services primarily for pregnant and nursing mothers and young animals. *Promote education and provide low cost spay/neuter subsidy to the public to prevent the birth of so many unwanted pets.

Our Featured Pets...

Meet Sierra, she's a 22 week old Labrador/Austrailian Shepherd mix (although there might be a bit of Border collie too). She's a sweetie and will likely be a bit on the bigger side (60-70 lbs). She'll be likely to be an active dog so her forever family should be active and fun loving. Sierra has some Aussie in her, so she might turn out to be a "velcro" dog that follows her people from room to room to make sure she knows right where they are. Sierra gets along with other dogs, so a family with another animal would be great and would allow an outlet for her energy!

Sierra has been altered, has her vaccinations, and is micro-chipped. Her adoption fee is $85. When you adopt through BARK, you also receive a free DVD about adopting your new dog.

Meet T! He's a Tuxedo cat that was found in one of our volunteers' neighborhood. He is white and black with a white "T" on his back. He's very loving and good with people. He tends to be a bit dominant with the other cats and can hold his own with dogs. We think he's about a year old. All BARK animals are fostered in homes in the Tucson community, so are used to a normal family environment.

T has been altered, has been started with his vaccinations, and is micro-chipped. His adoption fee is $50. When you adopt through BARK, you also receive a free DVD about adopting your new cat.

If you would like to meet T and Sierra, you can see them on Saturday from 11-5 at Petco, 4625 N. Oracle Rd across from the Tucson Mall.

More About Us

We are a small group of dedicated volunteers and foster families helping find dogs and cats forever homes in the Tucson community. All of our animals are housed in foster homes with other animals, so we've had a chance to see them in a "family" environment and interacting with other animals.

BARK is focused mainly on young rescues. Often, community animal control facilities do not have the resources to take care of pregnant animals or mothers with young puppies or kittens. For this reason, they are often euthanized. We take these pregnant mothers and young animals into foster homes and provide the care they need until they are old enough for adoption into their forever homes.

We are always looking for new VOLUNTEERS to help at our adoption sites. We are also looking for foster homes. If you can help in either of these areas, please stop by our PETCO adoption site on the weekend and we can answer any questions you have and give you an application form. We provide training for all foster families and adoption councilors/teen volunteers. Thank you in advance.
