MCACC is a full service animal organization that offers the community many valuable programs and services such as:
People love pets - they're cute, cuddly, and fun! But having a pet involves much more than just love. There's a huge commitment involved - pets need food and water, medical care, and lots of attention. Unfortunately with all of these responsibilities, many people find that they are in over their head. The result is a large number of unwanted pets. That's where MCACC comes in. We do what we do because over 50,000 animals in Maricopa County need us each year!
MCACC's approach to delivering animal care and control services reflects the delicate balance that exists between animal welfare and animal control. We strive to be proactive and offer programs to prevent problems before they occur. For example, our Uno-Por-Uno (One-by-One) program and Spay/Neuter Assistance Program (SNAP) helps reduce the unwanted pet population.
Our mission is to promote and protect the health, safety, and welfare of people and pets in Maricopa County.
We envision the day when:
MCACC operates two Animal Care Centers that provide valuable services to the entire Valley.
Our Animal Care Centers offer shelter for lost and stray animals, adoption services, dog licensing, rabies vaccinations and more.
MCACC has many friendly dogs and cats that are eager to find a loving home. Adopting a dog or cat is easy. Just visit one of our adoption locations (MCACC Metro Center, "Under One Woof", Scottsdale PetsMart), or attend one of our special events, check out the animals, and speak with an Adoption Counselor. After you have selected your new pet, fill out a few forms and pay the adoption fee. Then you are ready to introduce your pet to his/her new home! Here's a list of the pets we currently have at the West Valley Animal Care Center: Pet List.
