"Sweetie"
! Fall has arrived and with the cooler weather we urge all pet owners to winterize. As the cold weather settles in, we need to remember the animals that reside outside either by choice or due to their circumstances. Providing a warm house and making sure that food and water is available at all times will help the animals make it through the next few months of Arkansas weather. Our September special was a great success. Thank you to all those who took advantage of the special discount. Our goal is to find forever homes for our animals. Due to the increased number of animals under our care, and the higher cost of their care and up keep, we need to decrease the number of residents through permanent loving homes. Thank you to those who have adopted from us in the past. UCAPS is excited to offer a large variety of canines and felines. One is sure to find the perfect companion among the residents. We have young pups and kittens up to the retired senior pets. Most come to us as strays with a limited amount of information available. We try our best to match personalities to ensure a long lasting relationship. We can't guarantee that there may be an undiagnosed health issue, but we do provide general vaccinations and regular dewormings. We eliminate ticks and fleas upon intake, and temperment test for adoptabliity. We try to understand what the animals have gone through and for that reason some have to be given a longer adjustment period prior to be placed for adoption. If you would like to find a forever friend, contact us at UCAPS and the animals will win your hearts! In the end.....they choose whether they go with a family or whether they stay with us a little longer for that opportunity. If you are unable to adopt, consider sponsoring a cat or dog during its stay. A small donation will go far in helping an animal obtain their shots, heartworm testing, feline leukemia/aids testing, medications for illnesses or injuries, toys, food, and blankies are always a wecomed donations. December 15, 16 & 17 we will host the Arkansans For Animals spay/neuter clinic. Veterinarian JoAnna McManus will be preforming all procedures. Anyone who registered and prepaid for the cancelled July clinic will be first to be signed up followed by the public who meet the income eligibility requirements. Everyone must preregister and prepay. Contact Janet at UCAPS for more information. If you would like to help UCAPS animals to have their surgeries consider sponsoring one or more. Most dogs will be $50 plus $8 for the rabies vaccination (required by Arkansas state law). Cats are $30 plus $8 for rabies vaccination. Additional charges may occur for special circumstances. We are open to the public Thurs.. thru Sat. from noon to 5:00 p.m. >

What is UCAPS?

We are a non-profit organization that strives to help homeless animals find new homes. We vaccinate and deworm all animals entering our shelter and spay/neuter when funds allow. Our shelter is open to the public Thursday through Saturday from 12:00 to 5:00.

Adopting a new friend!

Come by the shelter and fill out the adoption paperwork, shelter workers will help you pick out the animal that meets your needs and best fits your lifestyle. Arkansas law requires that all animals adopted from shelters be spayed/neutered.
