DON'T BREED OR BUY WHILE SHELTER DOGS DIE!!!!!!!!!!!!
We are still in the process of raising approximately $50,000.00 to build a permanent animal shelter. We are over halfway there now, and thankfully the city built a nice new interim shelter for the homeless animals of our community, of which we supplied the custom-built wooden doghouses.
****Please understand that our organization has no control over the animal shelter, including the euthanization of healthy and adoptable dogs. This decision is made by the city, who runs and operates the shelter. This is why we work so very hard to find them homes. We must say that the city is very generous in the amount of time the dogs are allowed to live there. As long as there is adequate room, the city does not euthanize them. However, when more and more dogs come in and the shelter begins to be full, the ones who have been there the longest must be euthanized. Also, once some dogs have been there a while, they are no longer adoptable due to the personality change that is associated with the stress of being in a shelter environment. We are a participating shelter in Iams "Home for the Holidays". We hope to have as many new homes for our shelter pets as possible by the end of the year. We are offering pet adoption kits (given by Iams) that are a free gift to you for adopting a shelter pet!! (***while supplies last)
<>We are a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to saving the lives of as many animals as possible by helping find homes for the homeless animals in our community. There is a $35 adoption/re-homing fee for our pets. This fee covers vaccination expenses and helps to cover any other medical issues or needs. We do REQUIRE spaying/neutering of your new friend upon adoption, and we certainly recommend taking him/her to the vet for vaccinations and regular check-ups.>
you may go out to the shelter to view the adoptable dogs at any time during business hours 8-3:00 Monday-Thursday and 8-noon on Friday.

The Warren Animal Shelter is located on the Banks Highway, headed towards Hampton, on Highway 278 West. Go past the Sale Barn road with the big cow out front. Turn left onto the next road where there is now a sign that reads "Warren Animal Shelter". You may go through the gate during business hours, even though it will appear to be locked. Just go up to it and unwrap the chain. The gate is normally open from early morning to 3:00 p.m. Monday-Thursday and until 12:00 noon on Fridays.
