Who We Are
Volunteers with AR Great Dane Rescue just couldn't stand leaving all the adoptable little dogs and cats in the local shelters and on the side of the roads. A sub group was formed and now stands on its own as Spot, Saving Pets One at a Time. Spot currently takes in medium and small breed dogs, cats, quinea pigs, hamsters, ferretts, other small mammals and birds. We also help others that find companion animals by helping with spay/neuter assistance, vaccinations, heartworm testing and food. We are very appreciative of all those out there that help abandoned animals everywhere.
Adopting a friend
Rescue dogs remember where they have been. Those coming out of shelters know that not all dogs make it out alive. They remember what its like to go without food or clean water for days. They remember sleeping in the mud, and dodging cars. They also remember the homes where they were loved and a part of the family. They don't understand why they were dumped in the country or in their local shelter. Surely there was some small space for these guys in their families new home. Surely they new baby would have loved having a canine guardian. They suffer emotional loss just like us. Because these dogs know how hard life can be, when adopted into their forever homes, they tend to be the most loyal dedicated pets ever. When you adopt you are taking home the best friend you will ever have. Give a rescue a chance. No one could ever love you more!!!!
