We have a new shelter facility for dogs. The shelter is located behind Chicot Irrigation on Hwy. 65 and 82 South. . You may contact 870-265-8200 (Mon.-Fri.) or Crossroads Veterinary Clinic at 870-265-4200 (Tues.-Sat.) in Lake Village to make
an appointment to see the dogs and puppies. The clinic also has dogs and cats for adoption. We are affiliated with the HSUS. Although we have dogs at the shelter, the dogs featured at this site are in foster care.

The city picks up dogs regularly and places them in the pound, which is merely a holding facility. To gain access to the dog pound contact Lake Village City Hall Mon-Fri, 8-5, at 870-265-2228, if you are missing a dog or are interested in helping a dog who is homeless.
CATS BY THE DOZEN!!
There is currently an urgent need for good homes for a colony of cats we have trapped and had altered. All of these cats are the offspring of one feral female who we finally caught. If you have a place for a cat please contact Maryl by email at sambo1047@earthlink.net.
All the cats have been spayed or neutered and they are fat and healthy.
Who We Are
We are a handful of people in Southeast Arkansas hoping to raise awareness in Chicot County about the need to spay and neuter our pets. Lake Village, Arkansas has a leash law and yet many people allow their dogs to roam in town, where they are trapped and sent to the pound. A city ordinance allows them only 20 brief days of life before they are euthanized. Recently a beautiful female was euthanized and missed being adopted by ONE hour! Please help us place these dogs in YOUR life.
Adopting a friend
All the dogs at this site would be the perfect companion for someone. They need our help to find that special person who can make their life better. The Chicot County Humane Shelter offers spay/neuter assistance to anyone who would like to adopt a pet, yet may need financial assistance.
